This project is a two-level deck with a roof and screened enclosure over the upper level deck. Two skylights and a window were installed to allow more sunlight in, while still providing shelter from the rain. The screen porch uses an aluminum-based system called ScreenEZE. ScreenEZE allows for a wide span between support posts, allowing for greater visibility of the outside. Both decks use tongue-and-groove AZEK decking, which uses concealed fasteners to secure the decking to the framing underneath.
This big project is supported by three block columns covered with stone veneer and round tapered vinyl supports between. It includes Brownstone AZEK decking with Cortex hidden fasteners, Ivory vinyl railing with bronze aluminum balusters, a shed underneath a portion of the deck, and lighting on the stone columns.
This owner originally had a 10x10 wood deck off of their townhouse (see the bottom picture for the "before"). Stump's Quality Decks expanded the deck to a 10x20 low-maintenance Azek deck, doubling the deck space. They also added an underdeck system that made the area below the deck usable during the rain. The deck was built with AZEK decking (Morado color), white vinyl railing, and low-voltage lighting.
The lighting includes three types of lighting--post cap lighting, post accent lighting (mounted on the side of the post), and lighting for the underdeck area.
